Büro für Soziokultur

The Büro für Soziokultur was founded in 2015 by Thomas R. Huber as a creative agency for media and art projects. We develop projects for people of all ages. One of our focuses is on offers for people with refugee experience, especially in intercultural dialogue.

Between Us
Multigenerational workshop from both sides of the former inner-German border created short documentary and fiction films. For seven days multigenerational teams in Saxony-Anhalt realized collective cinematic works, followed by another seven days with multigenerational teams in Lower Saxony.
Premiered on 29th of April in Helmstedt Cinema.

Wheel of Time
Youth media project and production of a short film (16′). Summer/autumn/winter 2020, Heidengraben (Swabian Alb around Erkenbrechtsweiler).

Staying, Leaving, Arriving
Four reports about the southern region of Leipzig by students of the Leipziger Land Vocational School Center. 21 students from different educational backgrounds, aged 16 to 20, had the opportunity to make films for seven days during regular class time. The workshop was led by Berlin director and producer David Ruf and Leipzig documentary filmmaker Pablo Ben-Yakov.

In the Mix It program, young people with and without a history of flight/immigration between the ages of 15 and 21 make short films together as part of project weeks on changing and, since 2019, primarily socio-political topics.
The films can cover different genres: from short documentaries to scenic sketches to more experimental formats, everything is possible. Film workshop leader.
